After previewing the 2019 Mazda CX-5 2.5-litre Turbo AWD last week, Mazda has finally announced the full specifications and variants of the 2019 Mazda CX-5 line-up.

Engine options available for the 2019 Mazda CX-5 includes the 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA), 2.5-litre turbocharged, and 2.2-litre turbodiesel powertrain. All-wheel drive (AWD) is only available on the 2.5-litre turbocharged variant, which replaces the previous 2.2-litre turbodiesel AWD.

All engines on the 2019 Mazda CX-5 will be paired to a SkyActiv Drive 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Notable upgrades to the 2019 Mazda CX-5 line up includes the addition of GVC Plus, Mazda’s torque vectoring system with independent brake control, which is standard across all variants.

Additionally, Mazda has updated the infotainment systems on all variants. The 7-inch touch-screen display on the Mazda CX-5 will be equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionalities. All variants will get a 360-degree view camera except for the 2.0-litre GL variant, which makes do with a regular reversing camera with guide lines.

Safety wise, all variants of the 2019 Mazda CX-5 except for the 2.0-litre GL trim, will come with a varying level of advanced driver assist features such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive headlights, rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention alert, with the 2.5-litre turbo and 2.2-litre turbodiesel variants equipped with the additional lane departure warning system and lane-keep assist.

The 2.5-litre turbocharged variant also comes with an additional active driver’s heads-up display, as well as a redesigned instrument cluster featuring a 7-inch TFT display in the centre.

Mazda promises 5-year or 100,000 km manufacturer warranty and free maintenance for all vehicles registered 1st January 2019 onwards (except the BT-50). The Mazda CX-5 is now available for booking, with prices to be announced soon.
