The Lexus NX just underwent a facelift in early April this year, however, Lexus has already rolled out a further enhanced version of it or in Lexus-speak – Minor Change model in Japan. The latest model gets subtle aesthetic tweaks and new convenience features.

The facelift exercise before this brought about a new bumper design, restyled headlamps and taillamps as well as new aluminium wheel designs. New items to the updated NX include a five-spoke 18-inch Bronze coloured aluminium alloys and a hands-free powered tailgate which can be operated through a kicking motion under the rear bumper.

Besides the abundant colour choice for the Japanese domestic model, the latest NX gets a new colour Heads-Up Display while F-Sport variants gets additional upholstery colour options of White and Flare Red.

As before, two engine choices are available on the updated NX – a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 235 hp/350 Nm and a 2.5-litre petrol hybrid with 197 hp. The Adaptive Variable Suspension (a technology shared with the new LC 500) that computes 650 instantaneous compression and damping adjustments to give superior ride comfort and handling gets a new Custom Mode which allows drivers to select a combination of engine, suspension and gearbox settings to suit their driving needs.

Lexus Safety System+ which made its debut on the facelift model, bundles Collision Avoidance Support Pre-Crash Safety, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Control Function, Automatic High Beam and Radar Cruise Control.

Prices for the updated Lexus NX ranges from ¥4.4 million (RM164k) to ¥5.9 million (RM220k). The facelifted NX has yet to make its local debut, perhaps Lexus Malaysia was waiting out for this Minor Change model?
