Toyota FT-86, also widely known as the successor to the legendary Hatchiroku AE86 car, is Toyota’s main foray in its return to creating fun and sporty cars. Toyota and Subaru were expected to release their own versions of the RWD couple, with Subaru naming it as the BRZ while Toyota will use the FT-86. Both cars will use the Subaru sourced boxer engine although there are rumours that Subaru’s will have 300HP while the Toyota’s will have 100HP less.
The highly anticipated car is due to launch by November during the Tokyo International Motorshow but what we found here are some images taken from Toyota’s in-house design and tuning company Modellista. From the looks of it, it is good. Exterior design does has it’s sporty credentials and the best part is the interior which is very driver focused, something which is missing from recent Toyota cars.
Stated to be a fun and affordable sports car for all, this should be a big hit with motoring enthusiasts. Aftermarket arts should be aplenty in years to come and those in the drifting scene can look into this car to compete in drift events. We will cover more when this car hits the Tokyo Motorshow next month.
